You spoke … we listened.  Beginning in October, the Better Bites program will make it easier and less expensive for you to eat delicious, healthy foods at both Penrose Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center. One of the healthy items is a turkey burger. Not only do they taste great, but they will be less expensive than the hamburgers and much healthier for you.

Distracted Driving

Distractions are the leading cause of motor vehicle crashes. The number one distraction–cell phones! Did you know that drivers who use cell phones are four times more likely to be involved in a car accident? According to one public opinion poll, 81 percent of the public admits to talking on a cell phone while driving. Using a cell phone while driving, whether hand-held or hand-free, delays a driver’s reactions as much as having a blood alcohol concentration at the legal limit of .08 percent. Remember, a life is more important than the next call!
